RÉSUMÉ

Rodrigo Gonzalo's studio practice flows seamlessly between research, thinking and image making. Computer language, sound, writing, still and moving images, appropriation and translation making use of systematic methodologies embedded in Conceptualism are the sources he currently uses. Informed by research as well as through an observation of those influences that affect how societies work, Rodrigo is interested in the relationship between art and society at large.

The process of creating the work is as important as the final object. Rodrigo's visual work is mainly the desire to critically understand and represent the world within the means of photography in a broad understanding of it, which is sustained by research and framed as an artistic project, focusing on a complex, politicized and critical awareness of photographs, interrogating the documentary use of the camera.
